All cars would benefit from the replacement of the water pump with an electrically controlled unit. The electric water pump would allow a higher engine temperature and would result in increased fuel efficiency. As the interwebs would have it, a headline on wired.com about gasbuddy.com’s gas price temperature map led me to wonder how it would match up with the results of the 2004 presidential election. Squint just a little and you’ll see that the majority of “blue” states have the higher gas prices compared to the “red” states.
