I have never used a curling iron prior to buying the Conair Ceramic Curling Iron so I don't have anything really to compare it to, but I must say I am quite satisfied with this product! I've always wanted to try out curly/wavy hair and figured it was time to get a curling iron and try it on my stubborn hair. I got the 1" barrel since I didn't want the tight curls just loose ones.

Before buying I read some other complaints about the product only curling/flipping the bottom of your hair and I noticed with very fine hair it could be slippery on the barrel so you have to make sure the hair is secure so you will have to apply some pressure on the clamp and roll the hair along the barrel tightly in order to curl the whole strand of hair. I usually use the 15-20 heat setting and I possibly due to the stubbornness of my hair it starts to uncurl within a few hours so I suppose I should find a good hair spray in order to set my hair.

Anyway it is a great buy for the price and I am overall very happy about this buy! It includes a nice heat shield to put over the curling iron and it automatically turns off after awhile which are good safety features. I can't wait to curl my hair for the next special occasion! -- Happy with My First Curling Iron!

This product was recommended to me by my beautician because the heat is controlled unlike the metal irons that get hotter and hotter the longer they sit which causes breakage. I like the way it makes my hair look, silky smooth. -- Ceramic Curling Irons

I had asked for this for my birthday and a friend of mine bought it for me. I was really excited to use it BUT I was really disappointed in the result! It takes forever to heat up. The hair slips out all the time. AND THE WORST THING... since I have really straight hair, it doesn't curl. Even when I leave it for about a minute, it only curled the ends of my hair. I wish I had read the reviews on this before I asked for it! -- so disappointed

I don't tend to spend much money on hair products or accessories, and Cornair has always fallen within an acceptable price range for me. This is my fourth or fifth Cornair product and I absolute love it. In fact, this latest purchase was to replace the exact same model which had worn out from about six years of almost daily use. I love the ceramic barrel because it doesn't burn my hair. I have rather thick, straight hair and this curling iron does a fabulous job of creating natural curls that last basically until the next morning. =) I don't use other hair products, so I think it's that the ceramic barrel applies just enough heat to keep my curls looking great all day. The curling iron's setting is at 16 which is perfect for my hair.

I love how fast it heats up and I also like that this one came with a barrel cover like the last one. It helps for when I'm traveling. What I don't like about this curling iron is that the top of the barrel has a small knob on which it rests and it's too close to the top of the counter for my liking. I have travertine in my bathroom so the heat isn't a problem, but for those of you who have a counter top that isn't a natural stone or hard tile, you might experience a bit of damage. =/ But that's truly my only gripe about this curling iron. I love everything else about it, including the price.

I bought this one a little bigger 1 3/4, my hair is long and I wanted big curls, the little ones take forever to do it.
it doesn't work at all, it makes a little curl right on the ends and nothing else, it's a waste of money, it comes in a plastic package that you have to cut it open so it makes it impossible to return.
This product is a total piece of crap. Sorry, don't waste your money or time. -- Crap
